"Let the wife make the husband happy to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave." -Martin Luther
I wasn't sure if that image would work, but its basically a bright and happy poster with that quote on it with a little picture of a house with a heart on it.
I'm an avid fan of this site called Pinterest, however, if you go to the 'prints and posters' section, I find so many women saying how much they love this quote, and that they want a copy of the poster in their house, etc. I find it a little...out dated. Sure its a good sentiment, to want to make each other sorry to have to be apart, but this quote in particular leaves the woman at home, and the man doing the bread-winning, or whatever else he has to do out in the world. And the fact that she has to be sorry to see him go? If I ever became or was a housewife I wouldn't be sorry to see a man go. I'd want to be proud of the fact that he was doing whatever he was doing.
I also get the feeling this quote possibly has more to do with sex, in which case, the woman is still on the lower end, having to please the man, and then possibly not getting everything she wanted in return.
