New, new, new.

I think I'm going to turn this into a blog about cooking, because just like Julia, I am unoriginal and have to follow other people's recipes and then write about it to make it seem worthwhile. I am also more than likely going to include pictures, but that's just because I like to do that - not because its necessary.

Anyway.

This week is Thanksgiving week. So there is lots of cooking to be done. I also have to work a lot, so we're going to have to see how that works out.

The progress for tonight is going to involve making a bunch of things I've never made before, like a turkey brine, fudge, and a homemade apple pie via my sister's recipe.

Tomorrow, after a 7am-3pm shift at work, I'll be actually cooking the turkey, cutting up the fudge, and making something of my own concoction (also of which I've never made before): a brussel sprout and baby carrot combination in a garlic/butter/citrus-y sauce.

Then around 6 (God help me have enough time!) I'll be heading over with all my turkey and food in tow to a friend's house for a Thanksgiving Potluck dinner he and I have basically planned out.

Let's hope all goes as planned and I will update later with my recipes, pictures, and personal advice (or just some rambling) about cooking!
