Saturday, I went to the Nx35 free Flaming Lips show at the fairgrounds behind Kroger. It was alright for about the first thirty minutes. Then it got ridiculously cold, boring, my feet hurt/went numb, conversation started to lag, etc. I went with some people I don't normally hang out with and it was actually fun. (I'm usually not much for crowds outside my own.)
Did I mention we waited for over two hours for this show to start? Of course bands played in the meantime, but it really just sounded like one really long song that never seemed to end or get any better. And then the Flaming Lips came on. They rolled around in the crowd in some ridiculous human sized hamster ball for few minutes until a fuse(?) blew and caused the power to go out for about ten minutes. gg. Then they proceeded to play a screen that showed some naked chick dancing around while incredibly high or drunk in some weird tye-dye psychedelic color-themed video. And they showed it over. and over. and over. And then she proceeded to lay down and give birth (really they walked through a door in the screen) to the band members. Gag me. Sorry, not my cup of tea. We hung around to listen to the lead singer advocate pot and drunkness (evidently with the Fire Marshal's approval) between four or five songs that all sounded alike (think repeating, chanting, pot songs) and then we left.
I'm sorry, did we just go to Woodstock? Oh wait. We just saw a band who missed their Woodstock. Seriously guys, if it takes you thirty+ years to get there - give. it. up.
I don't mean to say it wasn't fun hanging out with the people I was with. I just wish it cold have been warmer, more comfortable, and with infinitely better entertainment.
I did eat a really good turkey leg while I was there.
Sunday Brian and I brought the dogs to my parents house to play all afternoon. Monty decided halfway there that he couldn't hold his bladder and peed in my backseat. =\ My car smells horrid now, even after two scrubbings and vacuuming.
The dogs played in the pool and in the backyard and helped us wash my car.
The art of washing a car is not lost on me. I find it entertaining. Plus Kipper loves hoses and will do acrobatics trying to catch that stream of water.
I love this tree at my house, I think its really pretty, so more tree pictures.
Today, Brian and I met up with the people we went to the Flaming Lips show with and had a picnic at Eureka Park. That was fun. Marco brought a stereo so we had music to listen to. We had fried chicken and chips and stuff. We played softball, Frisbee, football, Red Light Green Light, and Red Rover. It was a little cold, but the sunshine was alright.
I then took a long nap. Woke up to Monty misbehaving (he hasn't had a good weekend) and an annoying phone call. My mood increasingly went down hill so I decided to get some Taco C and play wow because that usually cheers me up. No. Taco C was cold, Dr pepper didn't taste right. Got into and was kicked from three raids before they started (so they could let guildies join instead), finally got into a raid that ended up falling apart because tank couldn't handle Ony. Gay. So. Really grumpy now, resets are tomorrow and I didn't get toc10 or icc10 done at all. And only one boss down on icc25. /sigh
I think its funny that the idea of a blog is so that you can spew your guts or whatever, but that I can't really do that because people might read me saying bad things about them because I am a very cynical person. Oh irony. I could make it private, but where the fun in that?
